The reports of Korea IT news reveals that mass production and delivery of Samsung display panels will begin in the third quarter of 2022. The new iPhone series is expected to launch in the second half of 2022.

It is said that Samsung Display is this year’s biggest OLED supplier for Apple. These panels will be used in the iPhone 14 Pro and also for the regular models.

Of the 80 million OLED panels, Samsung Display will provide 38.17 million for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 plus.

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are expected to have 6.1 and 6.7 inch screens. The Pro and Pro Max models will ship with the same screen sizes as the other two models. There will be a total of four models in the iPhone 14, iPhone 14, 14 Max or Plus, 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max series.

The Apple iPhone 14 series will use TFT-based low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) and TFT-based low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) panels. It is not known which panel will be used for which model.

Some reports claim that the Pro models might have permanent display features. However, this is not yet officially confirmed.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 14 series in September. Pro models will have a pegboard. This design was available on previous models, then in 2017 the iPhone X introduced a notch design.

In a recent report, it is said that Apple will use BOE OLED panels for the next series. This week, the company is evaluating BOE’s OLED panels for the iPhone 14 series.
